Rachel Green - is she really a bitch?

I liked Rachel Green when I first watched FRIENDS and still do. So I was a little surprised when a friend of mine referred to her as a bitch. What's more, searching a bit on the internet told me that there are many people who share that opinion about her, mainly because of the kind of relationship she shared with Ross. (It is pretty much fantastic that on one hand this was a relationship that many shipped for and on the other hand an equal no of people, if not more, thought that one of them did not deserve the other!) It led me into thinking, was one of my favorite character real a bitchy person? Bitchy enough to hate? So, first question first. Who do we call a bitchy person? S10E08 - The one with the late thanksgiving : A FRIENDS fan analysis

So as usual, I get back to my room, sit down with a plate of food and open a FRIENDS episode to watch. Today I am watching The one with the late thanksgiving. The episode starts with Chandler telling the rest of the group that he and Monica wont be hosting thanksgiving that year but Phoebe manages in manipulating Monica to change her mind. So Monica and, to a little extent, Chandler cook the dinner while Rachel and Phoebe go to Baby Beauty Pageant entering Emma and Ross and Joey go to watch the rangers game. All of them are late for the dinner which angers the husband wife couple. The rest of the episode is how they try to get in. The episode ends with Monica announcing to everyone that they will finally be getting a baby to adopt. Even when I watched this episode for the first time, I knew it was going to be one of my least favorite thanksgiving episode (lets agree the thanksgiving episodes in all seasons are simply one of the bests. Ross Geller is the absolute worst!!

I started watching friends about four years back and have never stopped since. Over the years my opinion about the show and its characters has changed with every new viewing until (I think) they have finally reached a saturation point. And after all these years, if their is one character that I cant even stand watching, it is Ross Geller. To tell the truth, the first time I watched friends I absolutely loved him and sooooo wanted Ross and Rachel to get together until Joey fell for Rachel in season 8. Even then, when the final episode aired and Rachel came back to him I was happy. I mean, why wouldn't I be? It was the first time I was watching the show, enjoying the jokes and chemistry of the main actors and I wanted the never-getting-what-he-deserved guy to finally win the girl he had pined for ages. Also, didn't every single character in the show mention it thousand of times that Rachel was his one true love and what a sweet, caring, loving and nice guy Ross was? I believe...
